Product Description
SALTMIN is an advanced soil conditioner and active calcium formulation specially developed to mitigate the harmful effects of saline irrigation water and soils with high Sodium Adsorption Ratio (SAR). Unlike conventional calcium compounds, which may precipitate due to their low mobility in soil or move slowly through plant xylem, the calcium in SALTMIN is formulated using specialized technology to remain highly mobile and reactive.
Key Functional Mechanisms & Benefits of SALTMIN
- Reclamation of Saline-Sodic Soils & SAR Reduction: The highly mobile calcium ions in SALTMIN displace sodium adsorbed onto clay particles, helping release and leach it from the root zone (rhizosphere). This helps restore soil porosity and improve water infiltration and permeability.
- Rapid & Effective Correction of Calcium Deficiency: The high mobility of calcium within plant tissues helps rapidly address physiological disorders such as blossom-end rot, bitter pit, corking, and leaf margin burn.
- Photosynthetic Boosters: Specialized stimulants in the formulation help maintain photosynthetic activity under saline osmotic stress, contributing to healthier, greener foliage and improved leaf area development.
- Reduced Ion Toxicity & Osmotic Stress: By helping maintain osmotic balance and reducing excessive sodium and chloride uptake, SALTMIN supports cell wall integrity and overall plant health.
SALTMIN Application Guide Based on Soil Sodium Adsorption Ratio (SAR)
| Sodium Adsorption Ratio (SAR) | Application Rate (kg/L per ha) | Salinity Risk Level |
|---|---|---|
| SAR < 10 | 25–50 | Mild Salinity / Preventive |
| SAR 10–13 | 75 | Moderate Salinity |
| SAR 13–16 | 100 | Significant Sodium Stress |
| SAR 16–20 | 125–150 | Highly Saline & Sodic Soils |
| SAR > 20 | More than 150 | Critical Salinity Conditions |
